ClickUp combines project management, docs, chat, automations, dashboards, and ClickUp Brain AI for contextual work management.
ClickUp is still one of the most feature-dense project management platforms in 2026, and ClickUp Brain turns that density into a useful AI surface. The core workspace covers tasks, docs, chat, whiteboards, dashboards, goals, forms, sprints, time tracking, and automations. Brain adds contextual assistance across that work: summaries, project updates, AI fields, task generation, prioritization, writing help, connected search, and agent-style workflows.
The most important pricing detail is that ClickUp has two layers. Workspace plans start with Free Forever, then paid plans commonly begin around $7 per user per month annually for Unlimited and $12 per user per month annually for Business, with Enterprise custom. AI is separate. ClickUp’s Brain AI pricing page lists Brain AI at $18 per user monthly or $9 per user monthly billed annually. Everything AI is $68 monthly or $28 annually and expands features such as unlimited Ambient Answers, Autopilot Agents, Talk to Text, Enterprise Search, and AI Notetaker. Super Credits are sold at $10 for 10,000 credits for agent and generation usage.
The upside is context. A generic chatbot does not know which task is late, which doc is the source of truth, or what a comment thread decided last week. ClickUp Brain can operate inside the workspace, summarize messy task activity, create updates, answer questions from docs, and help configure Super Agents or Autopilot Agents. That makes it valuable for project managers, operations teams, agencies, product teams, and support organizations that already live in ClickUp.
The downside is complexity. ClickUp’s strength—custom statuses, fields, views, templates, automations, and integrations—is also the reason many teams struggle with adoption. Adding AI before cleaning up workspace structure can amplify confusion. The best rollout is practical: choose two or three high-frequency workflows, such as weekly status summaries, intake triage, and blocked-task detection, then measure hours saved. ClickUp AI is not worth buying just for generic writing. It is worth testing when your work data is already in ClickUp and you need agents that can act on that context.
A practical pilot should start with one department and one measurable workflow. Examples: automatically summarize weekly project status, answer “what is blocked?” in a leadership channel, or fill AI fields for risk and priority. Track time saved, incorrect summaries, and adoption by role. If the workspace already has inconsistent statuses, duplicate fields, or stale docs, fix those before expanding AI. ClickUp Brain performs best when the underlying workspace has clean ownership and a clear source of truth.

ClickUp combines project management, docs, chat, automations, dashboards, and ClickUp Brain AI for contextual work management.
AI assistant with context across tasks, docs, and conversations simultaneously. Generates task descriptions from project context, summarizes comment threads, writes documents, creates timelines from brief descriptions, and surfaces insights from project data - not just isolated AI features.
Custom statuses, custom fields, custom views, custom automations, and custom everything else. Teams can rebuild the entire interface to match exactly how they work, making it ideal for complex workflows that outgrow rigid tool structures.
Natively combines project management, document creation (ClickUp Docs), real-time whiteboards, sprint management, time tracking, goal/OKR tracking, and form building in a single workspace - capabilities competitors spread across separate tools.
At $7/user/month for Unlimited plan, significantly undercuts Asana ($10.99) and Monday.com ($9) while including unlimited storage, integrations, and features that competitors gate behind higher tiers.
