Workato is an enterprise automation and integration platform that now presents Enterprise MCP alongside its iPaaS, Agent Studio, Agent Orchestration, AI Gateway, API Management, data orchestration, RPA, B2B/EDI, and intelligent document processing products. The current website describes a broad control plane for connecting business applications and making governed actions available to agents. Recipes remain Workato's core automation unit, while the MCP Gateway and orchestration products extend those workflows to compatible AI clients. This is materially different from a small standalone MCP server: buyers are evaluating an enterprise integration platform, governance model, connector ecosystem, and operating program.

For a practical pilot, expose one read-only application action and one reversible write action through the approved agent interface. Track implementation hours, successful executions, credential-refresh failures, duplicate writes, median latency, human correction rate, and audit-log completeness. Test revoked access, changed application schemas, rate limits, malformed tool inputs, retries, cancellation, and content that attempts prompt injection. Separate development, staging, and production workspaces, and give each workflow a named owner. Enterprise use also requires review of SSO, role-based access, data residency, retention, export, incident response, and whether logs contain sensitive business data.
