v0 is Vercel's flagship AI app builder, evolved from a UI-only React/Tailwind generator into a full-stack collaborative coding agent. You start with a prompt — a description, a screenshot, a Figma file, or even an existing repo — and v0 produces a working Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui project that you can iterate on in a chat-first UI with a live preview. Behind the scenes v0 uses Vercel's own v0-1.x reasoning model tuned for web frameworks; it understands the latest Next.js App Router, React Server Components, Server Actions, and modern auth and database patterns. You can connect Postgres, Supabase, Neon, or Vercel KV directly from the editor, attach files, generate API routes, and let v0 write tests and run them in a sandbox. One-click deploy pushes the project to Vercel with environment variables, branch previews, and analytics already wired up. The Free plan gives $5 of monthly credits and a 7 message/day cap; Team is $30/user/month with $30 included credits per user plus $2 of daily login credits; and Enterprise adds SSO, audit logs, and reserved capacity.
