Skyfire is a payment infrastructure platform for AI agents, providing identity, wallets, and transaction rails so autonomous agents can pay for APIs, services, and other agents on behalf of their users — positioned as the payments layer for the emerging agent economy.
Skyfire addresses a problem that becomes pressing once AI agents start taking real-world actions: how does an agent pay for things? Existing payment systems assume a human is in the loop with a credit card, a CAPTCHA, and a click-to-confirm step. Skyfire reimagines payments for autonomous software: agents get scoped, signed identities and prefunded wallets, and APIs accept Skyfire tokens as a frictionless equivalent of an API key plus a credit card.
The stack has three layers. KYA (Know Your Agent) verifies the identity of an agent and the human or company behind it, replacing CAPTCHA-style anti-bot defenses with provable identity for legitimate automation. The wallet layer lets users prefund an agent with USD or stablecoins, set spend limits, configure approval thresholds, and review transaction history. The payment rail itself integrates with the user's bank or card on the funding side and supports multiple settlement options on the merchant side, including stablecoin payouts.
For service providers, Skyfire offers a metering and billing SDK so APIs can charge per request, per token, per minute of voice, or per result — pricing models that align with agent usage patterns better than monthly subscriptions designed for humans. Marketplaces and aggregators can use Skyfire to route micropayments to many providers automatically.
Use cases include agentic web browsing (paying for premium content, search APIs, data providers), autonomous research and procurement, agent-to-agent commerce in multi-agent systems, and developer tools where the agent rents compute or model access on demand. Skyfire is an early-stage company with backers focused on the agent-economy thesis. Pricing for users is typically take-rate on funded wallets and transaction fees; specific tiers and terms should be confirmed with the vendor.
