As Model Context Protocol adoption exploded after Anthropic open-sourced the standard in late 2024, the ecosystem fragmented across many GitHub repos and personal websites. PulseMCP emerged as the central directory and news site that tracks the field — listing thousands of MCP servers across categories (databases, files, productivity, devops, design, finance, AI tools), tagging which clients each server is known to work with, and surfacing usage statistics, ratings, and changelogs.

For MCP server authors, PulseMCP provides a publishing surface so a server published to GitHub is easily discoverable. The directory includes installation instructions, configuration examples, screenshots, and links to source. Server pages get version-aware updates as authors push releases, making the directory more reliable than a static awesome-list.

For users and developers, PulseMCP is the place to find which MCP servers exist for a given problem (e.g. 'I need a Notion MCP server' or 'what MCP servers work with Claude Desktop?'), to filter by stability and popularity, and to discover MCP-aware applications and clients.
