Perplexity Comet

Comet is Perplexity's AI-native web browser, launched in mid-2025 and made generally available in 2026. It is a Chromium fork with the Perplexity assistant baked into the sidebar of every tab, giving you real-time answers about the page you are on, a persistent research thread across tabs, and an "agent" mode where the browser itself takes actions — filling forms, comparing prices, booking appointments, compiling briefs — while you watch. Because it has direct DOM access, Comet can inspect and act on the page in ways a chat-only assistant cannot, and it can cite the specific paragraphs it used from any tab.

Comet initially shipped only to Perplexity Max subscribers, then opened to all paid tiers in 2026 and to everyone with a Perplexity account later that year. The assistant supports MCP as a client, so any MCP server you connect (GitHub, Notion, Linear, your calendar) becomes a tool Comet can call while browsing. Enterprise pricing bundles Comet with Perplexity Enterprise Pro for centralized admin, SSO, and data controls.
