Oxen.ai started as a version-control platform for the datasets that fuel modern AI — image collections for computer vision, video corpora for multimodal models, JSONL for LLM fine-tunes, audio for speech models, and structured parquet for tabular ML — and has grown into a broader AI platform. Git and Git LFS choke on multi-terabyte datasets, and DVC exists but leaves collaboration primitive; Oxen fills the gap with a fast custom protocol, content-addressed storage, and a UI where contributors preview images, play audio, and diff CSV rows directly in the browser.
