Manus is a general-purpose autonomous agent that operates its own virtual computer to complete real tasks — book flights, produce research reports, build websites, analyze CSVs, run data pipelines — with minimal supervision. Under the hood it orchestrates a browser, terminal, code interpreter, and file system inside a cloud sandbox, and streams progress to a chat interface that lets you inspect the desktop, follow along, or intervene. When it launched in March 2025 the invite-only preview famously produced viral demos that made Western competitors look sluggish; the product has since matured into a subscription service with Starter, Pro, and Team tiers alongside a free credit allowance for evaluation. Manus supports scheduled tasks, background execution, and shareable outputs, and it can leverage a small tool catalog (browser, editor, deploy, image, video) plus the ability to write and run arbitrary code.
