Deep Research Max is an autonomous AI research agent from Google that conducts multi-step, long-horizon research tasks and produces comprehensive synthesized reports, available through Gemini with a freemium tier and higher quotas on paid Google AI plans. Announced on April 21, 2026 by Google researchers Lukas Haas and Srinivas Tadepalli, Deep Research Max represents the next generation of Google's Deep Research agents and is built on the Gemini 3.1 Pro model family.
