Open-source multi-platform chatbot framework that plugs LLMs into QQ, WeChat, Telegram, Discord, and more.

AstrBot is a fast-growing open-source project (top of GitHub's daily trending in July 2026) that lets you run a single AI chatbot across QQ, WeChat, Feishu, Discord, Telegram, KOOK, Lark, and even Minecraft servers from one codebase. It ships as a Python service with a web-based admin panel where you configure model providers, personas, plugins, and per-platform response rules without editing YAML by hand. Under the hood you can point it at OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Alibaba Qwen, DeepSeek, Kimi, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, and swap between them per conversation.

The 2026 releases turned AstrBot into a serious agent host: it now supports MCP as a client so any MCP server (web search, code execution, GitHub, home automation) becomes a tool the bot can call, and it exposes its own MCP server so external agents can talk to your chat community as a first-class integration. Around that core it wraps memory, RAG document Q&A, image understanding, TTS, and a plugin marketplace maintained by the community. Because it is AGPL-licensed and self-hosted, it is a common pick for Chinese-market communities, private Discord servers, and internal team assistants that cannot legally use OpenAI's ChatGPT or Meta's Llama-based Messenger integrations.
