A K-12 AI teaching toolkit for lesson planning, differentiated resources, standards-aligned slides, and grading handwritten student work.
Alayna is a modular AI toolkit built for K-12 teachers. Its AI Teaching Assistant includes 50 specialized agents for lesson planning, differentiation, IEP goals, classroom-safe image generation, document upload, and feedback. Magic Materials is included and converts a topic or PDF into more than 20 resources, including leveled texts, sentence frames, quizzes, flashcards, and extensions. It maps materials to Bloom’s taxonomy and Depth of Knowledge and exports to Google Docs, Google Forms, or PDF. Educators comparing the category should examine MagicSchool, TeachBetter.ai, Canva, and the guide to building AI agents without code.
Two separate products broaden the workflow. Slides Generator turns a topic, PDF, YouTube video, or Drive document into standards-aligned Google Slides, with more than 35 themes, 70 K-12 layouts, speaker notes, diagrams, and charts. GradingPal accepts handwritten essays, worksheets, and quizzes, applies rubrics, drafts feedback, and provides class analytics. The vendor reports more than 400,000 installs, a 4.9 out of 5 average teacher rating, and FERPA and COPPA compliance. These are vendor claims; districts should still request current privacy terms, subprocessors, retention controls, accessibility evidence, and security documentation.
Pricing is clear but modular. The Teaching Assistant with Magic Materials costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year after a seven-day trial. Slides Generator is separately $9.99 per month or $99 per year and starts with five trial presentations. GradingPal starts at $19 per month or $168 per year, with more plans for heavier volume. School and district pricing is custom and includes all products, SSO, admin dashboards, analytics, onboarding, and support. A teacher wanting all three entry products would pay at least $38.98 month to month; annual entry prices total $366 before any higher GradingPal tier.
Alayna is for reducing first-draft work, not removing professional judgment. Test one unit: generate differentiated materials, slides, and feedback for anonymized sample work. Score factual accuracy, standards alignment, reading level, accommodation quality, rubric consistency, accessibility, and editing time against the existing process. Never upload identifiable student records until policy and contracts permit it. Strengths include teacher-specific workflows, exports, handwritten-work support, and transparent pricing. Weaknesses include separate subscriptions and plausible but unsuitable output. The Teaching Assistant is the logical first trial; add Slides or GradingPal only if measured time savings justify another subscription. School pilots should include teachers from different grades and subjects because output quality may vary sharply between elementary literacy, secondary science, special education, and advanced coursework. Administrators should measure weekly active use, minutes saved per accepted artifact, revision rate, and teacher satisfaction—not raw generations. They should also define when AI assistance must be disclosed, how student work may be processed, who can view analytics, and how accounts and stored content are removed when staff leave.
